These are grates placed outside the channel to remove particles from the inlet water. Since the sieve gap is quite small, it provides an advanced level of elimination. During water entry, the particles hold on to the grill surface and are removed by filtering the clean water through the grill pores. A mechanical cleaner is generally not needed for grill cleaning, and the energy released during the flow of water is used for the cleaning process.
